Outreach for rural communities

Outreach services to the rural communities of Westcott, Ockley, Capel, Ranmore, Abinger Common, Okewood Hill and Beare Green

Family Outreach Support

Our outreach workers run groups at our Goodwyns Road site and in the community. In addition they are able to support some parents in their homes, at the Centre and/or on the phone if they have a particular need. If you feel you would benefit from such 1:1 support please speak to Centre staff or your health visitor.

The aim of our outreach service is:

  • To offer in-depth social, emotional and practical support and advice to families/ carers in the family home or other venues as appropriate, including Centre sites.
  • To enhance parenting skills in order to improve short and long-term outcomes for children.
  • To build confidence, self-esteem and resilience within family members.
  • To support families to independently access targeted and universal services for the benefit of themselves and their children.

Home Visiting

As well as running Stay and Play drop in groups and a toy library at our Goodwyns Road site, we provide a home visiting service to families in our local area. These visits usually start when the child is 18 months old and continue for about 2 terms for one hour per week.

The home visitors take a variety of play equipment into each home and use it with the parents to support the child's development and learning through a range of planned, fun activities. If you feel you would benefit from home visits please speak to Centre staff.
